Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful believes that engaging youth in protecting the environment not only creates a direct impact on changing youth behaviors and attitudes, but possibly influences their parents, relatives and families. As we all embark on another school year, we want to remind you of our programs that encourage young people to take an active role in protecting and improving our environment through recycling, litter awareness, and community stewardship.

Litter Free School Zone: The Litter Free School Zone program is designed to encourage students in grades K - 12 to keep their school grounds litter-free and to raise public awareness regarding litter via a Litter Free School Zone sign to be displayed outside the school. For requirements and additional program information visit the link provided or contact Stephanie Larson atslarson@keeppabeautiful.org or 724-836-4121 x104.

Tools for Schools: Online tools and resources intended to engage educators and students in litter prevention, cleanup and recycling related activities.

Keep America Beautiful – Youth Initiatives: A Starter GuideThis comprehensive tool engages, educates and inspires youth to be the next generation of environmental and community stewards. For grades k through 12. For more information contact Katie Joblon kjoblon@kab.org.
